Awareness for Mental Disabilities Rights

Human rights. We all know what they are. We all expect to be granted them. But what if you were born a little differently than others? Or didn't learn as fast? Would you still expect them?

Would you even know what they were?

Unfortunately, all over the world today, millions of individuals who are diagnosed with mental disabilities may never know what a basic human right is as result of being denied them their whole lives. Various countries deny mentally ill citizens education, the right to own property, and the right to equality, all basic rights that you and I have grown up knowing and appreciating.

Just by viewing this blog, you are doing your part in making a difference by educating yourself and bringing light to this little known issue.

Please take a look around at the pages to the right that compare the current issue to prevalent themes in various texts, as well as the call to action about how YOU (yes you!) can help to change how the world views mentally disabled people. They are still people! As a brief introduction before you begin, the following video highlights the issue and the need for a change.
